SkinVision Empowers Sunbathers to Take Charge of their Skin Health in Poland

“Not all of us feel fit enough or have such knowledge to say whether what we see with our eyes on our skin is something dangerous or not. We observe the progress of medicine, we observe the progress of technology, and this element of self-control can become SkinVision,” explained Prof. Aleksandra Lesiak MD.

Whether you were one of 440.000 people who tuned in to watch the fun unfold on Dzien Dobry TVN or joined the festivities in person along the Baltic Sea, SkinVision made a big splash in Poland this summer! With the beach as a backdrop, SkinVision inspired hundreds of sunbathers to take charge of their skin health with free SkinVision Smart Checks.

SkinVision, one of the top health apps in Poland right now, was featured in three live television events hosted by the #1 morning show in the country. Throughout July and early August, SkinVision was spotted at seaside events in Dziwnów, Międzyzdroje, and Kołobrzeg. With the help of Prof. Aleksandra Lesiak MD, habilitated doctor Dermatology and venereology specialist, featured in Newsweek, Vogue, and other top publications, SkinVision empowered the people of Poland to check their skin spots from the convenience of their smartphones.

“Moles and birthmarks of various shapes and colors can appear on the skin at any stage of life. We should carefully observe them and even self-evaluate them – so that we can show them to the doctor when the need arises.” Prof. Aleksandra Lesiak MD  explained during the interview. The expert also mentioned that many people underestimate the changes in the skin, and this translates into the development of the disease. – The survey showed that we usually go to a dermatologist when we already have such advanced changes that the treatment process is very difficult. And melanoma detected earlier is one hundred percent curable – argued the dermatologist.”

Poland has one of the lowest rates of melanoma detection in Europe, both when it comes to the amount of cases detected in time and the amount of cases detected at all. Skin cancer is often caused by excessive and unconscious exposure to UV radiation, which is why SkinVision took to the sand to educate people who could unknowingly be at risk while enjoying the beach.

SkinVision allows you to make an instant skin health check using the SkinVision app anywhere, anytime. Merging technology with dermatology expertise, SkinVision provides skin risk assessments, recommendations on the next steps to take, including whether to visit a healthcare professional, and how best to take care of your skin health. Once diagnosed by a clinician, there are specific treatment options to combat melanoma.

Lack of awareness around skin cancer prevention and how to detect skin cancer is one of the major causes behind the dramatic rates of melanoma in Poland. This joint campaign around raising awareness in both skin cancer detection and treatment is designed to help enable the general public in Poland to take charge of their skin health.
